Territorial studies and geoinformation
Turn technical, environmental and social information into comparable, traceable territorial knowledge in order to prioritise investment, guide planning, communicate scenarios and decide with an integrated view of the territory.
This service integrates cartography, geographic information systems and territorial analysis with population, rural and urban development studies and community participation. It covers thematic mapping, LiDAR processing, orthoimagery and Earth observation data; spatial databases, dashboards and data capture tools.
It adds analysis of perception, local knowledge and social vulnerability, and support for planning instruments. Consultancy, project management and applied research make it possible to coordinate teams and turn multidisciplinary results into coherent products for institutions, funders and communities.

Applied hydrology to assess water risks in Magdalena
In a region of the department of Magdalena, Tarulla developed a comprehensive hydrological study to understand how water availability varies, which areas are most exposed to periods of drought and where the greatest pressures on water quality coincide.
The work began with the review, cleaning and completion of precipitation, temperature and discharge series. On that basis we analysed meteorological, agricultural and hydrological droughts, estimated evapotranspiration and aridity, and built calibrated and validated hydrological models to represent the response of the watersheds and simulate discharges, even in sectors with limited information.
We also assessed water supply and demand, the pressure of water uses and the regulation capacity of the watersheds; and for contamination risk we analysed pollutant loads, quality indicators, assimilation capacity and vulnerability. The project delivered comparable maps, models, indices and a prioritisation matrix: a technical basis for deciding where to deepen monitoring, which problems to address first and how to focus future water supply, sanitation, restoration and water management projects.
